Soul versus Flesh
This is another topic that tends to be a bit confusing. I've been doing a lot of studying on my soul versus the flesh and talking to a lot of people. I see my soul as a separate entity to my flesh. I was talking to my friend Darin, and he was showing me his point of view, whereas the soul and the flesh are 1. For example, like an artichoke. In the core is your soul, the artichoke heart. The petals on the outside are all of life's distractions (basically, what society, upbringing and surroundings have formed). The flesh would be the ouside petals. He explains it as 1 whole artichoke. He asked me that since this transformation for me, why do I speak of my soul still as separate than my flesh. This was confusing for me and I thought to myself that since I say "My soul has exploded into my flesh", then I should be speaking as first person when I talk about my soul, but I wasn't. I gave this some thought last night and did some reading. I'd HIGHLY recommend this website: believer.com. This free e-book is what helped me a lot on understanding this soul versus flesh. If you would like a copy, let me know! Enjoy!: www.believer.com/paul/ebook_free.html.
This is where my soul ended on this topic:
"That which is born of the flesh is flesh. And that which is born of the Spirit is spirit"— John 3:6. It comes by birth as generated by a fallen begetter. Concerning this Flesh, we are told: it "cannot please God." (Rom. 8:8);it "profiteth nothing:" (John 6:63); there is in it "no good thing:" (Rom. 7:18).
What I originally felt (as the soul being a separate being) was right, but I didn't quite understand it. The petals on the outside of the artichoke are 1 and the artichoke heart, is another. No matter how you look at the artichoke as a whole, you have knowledge that there is a heart in the center of all of those petals. I can look at the artichoke as 1 whole entiity, but to me, that is deceiving if you disregard the knowledge of the 2 entities inside the artichoke. The flesh is the flesh and the soul is the soul. The soul can't become the flesh and the flesh can not become the soul. The petals of the artichoke cannot become the artichoke heart and vice versa. I can't appropriately say "My soul has become my flesh". I wasn't appropriately recognizing Jesus Christ as my Savior and forgiving me for the flesh. Praise the Lord.

My Brother, This book of the two natures is wonderful! and alot of what is said I knew(because I've feed my spirit with GOD's food for the spirit(the Living word for GOD) I hunger for it(the(ONLY)Truth) I want you, and I to study this book(the two natures). And through this study(Searching(eating the word of GOD) all the scriptures mentioned in it),Will we nourish our spirit to the higher plane that we seek. For the writings of man cannot feed the spirit, only the word of GOD can.In Your entry today you say"this is why I still fail at times." It is the old nature that fails at times, and always will. Yet the new nature is the real you and is and was made perfect By GOD. Only by feeding the new nature(or spirit) can you reach the level in which you(and I) seek.
Your brother in Christ.
Jim.

I was just re-reading some comments. I really like what Jim stated: "Only by feeding the new nature, can you reach the level in which you and I seek".
That's just like the story of the 2 wolves battling within your head. When the grandson asked which wolf wins, the Cherokee? said "The one that you feed."
